Stop. Breate. Be.
Positive Psychology Expert and Holistic Wellness Coach Pax Tandon will premiere her Mindfulness Meetup program on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, from 7 – 8:00 p.m., at Baked (815 S. 4th Street, Queen Village).
The goal: Get the City of Philadelphia back in balance using centuries old tools of mindfulness and meditation.
“We’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response to mindfulness programs lately,” Tandon explained “So the meetup is a fun way to get like-minded people together, in a beautiful atmosphere to practice meditation and gratitude.”
Gratitude exercises as well as guided mindfulness will be on tap as well as complimentary refreshments and swag from sponsors including Andre Richard Salon (www.andrerichardsalon.com) and Baked Sunless Tanning (www.bakedtanning.com). Mindfulness Meetups are free to attend, but seats are limited. Secure your spot here: www.bit.ly/PaxMeetupFeb
Mindfulness has been cited as a key component to increasing productivity and reducing stress in the workplace, improving overall mental health and even reducing damaging effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder for our military.
From Oprah to Ellen – and even the lioness Katy Perry, mindfulness is going mainstream with celebrities touting its benefits. Tandon, who holds a master’s degree in positive psychology from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania and has completed the Penn Program for Mindfulness, says celebs flourish with mindfulness because it is distinct from therapy – this work is about capitalizing on strengths, about empowerment and about teaching skills for resilience. Of her coaching practice, Tandon says, “We work from a point of neutrality or balance to the plus side, ramping up the joy, the positivity, the flourishing.”
Pax Tandon’s Mindfulness Meetups will be held each month at Baked. Check out www.paxtandon.com for more information.
