Author, Pax Tandon, and her book “Mindfulness Matters”

Pax Tandon is an author, producer, wellness coach and advocate, speaker, and teacher. Her award-winning book, “Mindfulness Matters,” garnered acclaim and praise, including medals from the Coalition of Visionary Resources, and the Independent Book Publisher’s Association. Pax also produced the Mindfulness Matters short film, which she co-wrote, voiced and starred in.

Tandon holds 3 Ivy League degrees, including a coveted Master’s Degree in Positive Psychology (the scientific study of what enables individuals and communities to thrive) from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned a BSE from the Wharton School and a BA in Psychology from the College at The University of Pennsylvania.  She also holds a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology, a Certificate in Positive Psychology Coaching, has 200 hours of yoga teacher training, and certificates of training in Past Life Regression Therapy with Dr. Brian Weiss and Psychological Safety through the Fearless Organization.  She has extensive study and training in Mindfulness, having completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course through the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine, and obtained a certificate in teaching mindfulness through the Mindful Schools organization.

Tandon has always been passionate about using her voice in the television/media space to effect positive change, a calling that began when was recruited to be a teen personality on “Rap Around,” a television show devoted to teen issues that includes Bradley Cooper, Ryan Phillipe, and Seth green among its alums.  She then served as a host of “Spotlight on Bollywood” in New York City, and continued her media career as an anchor and producer for CNCB-TV18. She has also been a panelist and guest on several radio and TV programs, and was featured as the host and central role in 2 major network television pilots.

Tandon has given speeches, led workshops and sat on panels for countless schools and organizations, including The Wharton School, Drexel University, Cabrini College, The Baldwin School, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), the Philadelphia Film Society, Women in Media, and The Fearless Conference, to name a few. She created a series of Mindfulness Meetups that were free and open to the public in Philadelphia and ran through 2015.

Tandon recently rolled off of a two-year elected position as Communications Chair of the Master’s of Applied Positive Psychology Alumni Association at The University of Pennsylvania. She is also currently serving on a Steering Committee in collaboration with Mural Arts Philadelphia to construct a mural honoring those lost to suicide. She is a long-time advocate for the AFSP, where she has played the role of Emcee for the annual “Out of the Darkness” Walk, which gathers thousands in memorial of those lost to suicide.
