Have you ever felt the truth in the saying “when it rains it pours?” Of course you have, you’re alive. It can sometimes when one thing isn’t right, nothing is. It’s this mentality and thought process than spirals us from discomfort to total chaos. Often times that leads us to comparing ourselves to other people and we criticize ourselves, instead of relishing in how far we’ve come.

The truth is, there’s a better way to live — and here’s how:

Make a decision. One of the most beautiful things about being you is that you’re actually in control of your own life, if you can believe it. The other beautiful thing is that we all evolve, individually, over time; at any time we can choose which version of ourselves was best or worse, when and why. Decide who you want to be, and be that positive person.

Give credit where credit is due. It’s so incredibly easy to see the accomplishments of other people. It’s even easier to compare those people to ourselves. (BUT, THAT’S NOT WHAT WE’RE DOING HERE!!) Instead, take a good hard look at everything you’ve accomplished; look back over the course of the last decade and — as soon as the shock settles — feel some gratitude for your many many blessings and accomplishments.

Learn to celebrate. It’s who we are in those moments when tough times are looking us square in the eyes that defines us. Dealing with stress is totally different for everyone, no two people are exactly alike, but… I’m inviting you to see yourself in a newer and brighter light. It’s a bit like Men’s Warehouse, I think you’re gonna’ like the way you look.
